Opera presents La Bohème starring:

Claire Wild (Mimi), Roberto Abate (Rodolfo), Ricardo Panela (Marcello), Robert Gildon (Schaunard), Peter Brooke (Colline), Catharine Rogers (Musetta), Christopher Foster (Benoit/Alcindoro), Mae Heydorn (Parpignol). Directed by Nicholas Heath. Musical Direction by Ben Woodward.

Nicholas Heath directs an updated 1960’s version of La Bohème where four men are not just content with a mere summer of love or a spring of youth but have made a deliberate choice to drop out and lead a Bohemian life. The setting is in late 1967 to 1968 with the run up to the student riots. At its most passionate heart La Bohème establishes two contrasting relationships with the innocent love of Rudolfo and Mimi and Musetta’s lustful entanglement with Marcello.

Regents Opera has established itself as one of the UK’s most exciting and original chamber opera companies. Its General Director, Nicholas Heath, creates a dynamic in-the-round production, which ἀnds the power to bring us intimately close to the work.
